Lingsoft Introduces Readers to Mikael Agricola in Russian

Lingsoft Oy publishes title from multi-channel One-Hour Words series in Russian, a miniature dictionary; Agricola tunnissa (Agricola in One Hour). The glossary is the first non-Finnish title in the series. It was published in Finnish for the first time in 2007 commemorating 450 years since the death of Mikael Agricola, the founder of written Finnish language.

Now Lingsoft continues the celebratory year starting cooperation with the Agricola Society. The glossary was launched at the the Mikael Agricola Memorial unveiling ceremony held at the Vyborg Lutheran Church of Saints Peter and Paul on 27.6.2009.

Written with a humorous twist the glossary presents the Russian speaking father of Finnish written language in a compact form. The publication describes Agricola's life and achievements as well as including a dash of life from the period. The Russian glossary was produced by Aleksander Belov and was distributed to Vyborg schoolchildren and at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.

Vocabulary in an Hour

The New Technology Foundation awarded Lingsoft an innovation prize for the One-Hour Words concept which integrates new technologies and new forms of marketing.
